
The Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest and the Centre Régional Francophone de Recherches Avancées en Sciences Sociales, University of Bucharest, in cooperation with the National Archives or Romania and the Transylavania Centre for Digital Humanities DIGIHUBB organize a workshop of digital history, on 18th-19th of November 2016, at the Faculty of History (Bd. Regina Elisabeta, nr. 8-12, Bucharest). By bringing together several projects of digital history and from Europe (Romania, Hungary, France) and representatives of the Romanian National Archives, Open Society Archives and the National Archives of Hungary the Workshop aims to map out the latest developments and research directions in the field of digital history, and to present different practices, benefits and limitations of digital history (research & public engagement objectives, technical challenges and solutions designed to meet these objectives).
The first day is dedicated to the presentations of participants’ projects. The second day of the event will include a half-day round-table reserved for discussions and conclusions regarding the future of the domain, involving all participants as well as invited guests.
